Background : Stroke is a condition which is caused by a sudden blockage or
rupture of a brain vessel that can cause sudden paralysis or weakness in half of the
body (Dharma, 2018). Approximately 15 million people suffer a first stroke each
year, with a third of these cases or about 6.6 million resulting in death (3.5 million
women and 3.1 million men).
Method : This writing aims to provide a description or description of the
management of stroke in patients with impaired physical mobility at
Muhammadiyah Hospital in Palembang. The type of descriptive research with
nursing care approach is in the form of assessment, data analysis, formulating
nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the treatment of
stroke with problems with physical mobility disorders. Management of impaired
physical mobility was carried out for 3 days on Mrs S and Mr B with data
collection techniques using interviews and observations. Then a nursing plan is
carried out, namely mobilization support and Range Of Motion (ROM) exercise
techniques.
Result : The final result was that the patient had impaired physical mobility due
to hemiparesis on the right and left sides of the body.
Conclusion : Based on the nursing actions taken, it can be concluded that the
physical mobility disorder in the patient has not been resolved. It is hoped that the
case studies that have been carried out by the authors can optimize and improve
the quality of education for educational institutions.
