Description
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by
hyperglycemia that occurs because the pancreas is unable to secrete
insulin, insulin work disorders, or both. Long-term damage and failure
of various organs such as eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood
vessels can occur if you are in a chronic hyperglycemia state. The
purpose of this study was to carry out and determine the description of
nursing care in patients with Type Diabetes Mellitus II with nutrient
deficit problems. The type of research used is descriptive analytic in
the form of a nursing care approach which includes assessment,
nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The
research subjects were two diabetes mellitus patients with nutritional
deficits. The research was conducted on April 5 2021 until April 8
2021, at the Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, South Sumatra Province
in 2021. Based on the results of the study conducted on both patients
for 3 days to overcome nutritional deficits, it was found that nausea
was reduced. In addition, after being given education about the DM
diet, the two patients were able to find out how to do the right DM
diet.
