Description
Dengue Fever (DBD) is an infectious disease caused by dengue virus and transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquito characterized by high fever and can suddenly reach 40ºC or more accompanied by unspecified symptoms such as anorexia, if the fever is not treated it can cause brain damage, hyperpireksia that will cause shock, epilepsy, and mental retardation. Therefore, prevention and treatment efforts are needed by measuring body temperature, warm compresses and drug administration collaboration. The methods used are interview methods, physical examinations and other medical supporting data. The subject of the case study used was an individual of two people aged 6-12 years who had the same nursing problem which is Dengue Fever with hyperthermia problems. This research was conducted at Siti Fatimah Hospital in April 2021. After 3 days of treatment, the results were obtained that patient 1 experienced a decrease in body temperature from 39ºC to 37ºC and patient 2 from 38.7º to 36.8ºC, the results showed that warm compresses and collaboration of drug administration were effective for lowering the body temperature of dengue fever children with hyperthermia problems. Advice from the author so that the family / patient can know the symptoms of hypertermia and able to conduct treatment independently to prevent the recurrence of the disease.
