Description
Osteoarthritis is a chronic joint disease characterized by abnormalities in the
cartilage of joints and bones nearby. Osteoarthritis shows a condition when the
joints are painful due to mild inflammation. The general objective of this study is
to be able to implement family nursing with the problem of osteoarthritis that
experiences knee pain in the working area of Palembang health center in 2019.
The type of research used is a case study by observing nursing care and
implementing nursing implementation. The research subjects studied were 2
families with knee pain problems in people with osteoarthritis. The study was
conducted by interviews and physical examination on May 20 to May 25 2019.
From the study results were obtained by Mr. F who found pain on his knees while
doing Ny.N activities pain in the knee joint, felt stiff, pain appeared at night and
morning and the presence swelling in the left leg. Implementation of planning that
has been prepared to overcome the problems experienced and involve clients and
families. The implementation was carried out on Mr. F and Ny. N, namely
reviewing pain, teaching deep breathing techniques to reduce pain and teaching
skin stimulus techniques with warm compresses, providing health education about
diseases and suggesting to reduce activity if feeling pain, and suggest doing health
check-up at the nearest health service. This implementation is carried out to
clients and knowledge is given to clients and families so that they can take simple
preventative measures. Evaluation of the actions given, the problem is resolved in
its entirety.
