Description
Background :Autism is a complex neurobiological development disorder with symptoms
appearing in children before the age of three. These disturbances are in the form of
communication disorders, social interaction disorders and repetitive behavior that is typical and
often accompanied by sensory and emotional disturbances. Problems that arise when a child is
diagnosed with autism, the family will experience a grieving process about the child's recovery.
The purpose of this research is to help families go through every stage of the grieving process
they experience. Implementation used to help pass through the stages of grieving through the
support of the grieving process.Method: The design of this study uses a descriptive method in
the form of a case study. The sampling method used isPurposive sampling as many as 4
respondents during 5x meetings at the Palembang Integrated Therapy NU_Kids Foundation. The
research data was taken through interviews, observation, examination, implementation and rating
scale. The analysis was carried out descriptively and presented with tables and narratives.Results
: Implementation of Grief Process Support can help patients get to the acceptance stage
(Acceptance). Conclusion : The results of the study illustrate that the implementation of Grief
Process Support in Families with ChildrenAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be applied.
