Description
Background:This research is based on the framework of thinking that the Guided
Imagination Technique is one of the non-pharmacological techniques to reduce
postoperative pain in sectio caesarea. The aims of the study were (1): To describe
the guided imagination technique in post-SC surgery mothers with acute pain
problems. (2): Analyzing the results of the implementation of guided imagination
technique therapy in post-SC surgery mothers with acute pain problems.
Methods: This study uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study with a
nursing process approach consisting of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning,
implementation, evaluation and documentation. This case study focuses on the
nursing implementation of guided imagination techniques and the provision of
health education on guided imagination techniques. The case study subjects were
two post sectio caesarea maternal patients with acute pain problems in the Siti
Walidah Obstetrics Room, Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang and were carried
out starting March 11, 2022.
Results: The guided imagination technique has an effective effect on overcoming
acute pain in post sectio caesarea mothers so that the acute pain experienced by
mothers is reduced. Patient 1 from a pain scale of 8 to 2 and Patient 2 from a pain
scale of 7 to 3. Both patients can also carry out activities independently and can
increase patient knowledge about guided imagining techniques to reduce post
sectio caesarea pain.
Conclusion: The guided imagination technique in post sectio caesarea patients
with acute pain can effectively reduce pain in both patients and can be used and
developed again for further research.
