Background : Hemodialysis is the process of exchanging dissolved substances and
the rest of the body's metabolism which is withdrawn by a diffusion mechanism
using a semipermeable membrane. Hemodialysis has an impact, one of which is
fatigue which can be given non-physical therapy in the form of deep breathing
techniques.
Methods: The design of this case study is descriptive analytic in the form of a case
study with an improvement process approach consisting of assessment, diagnosis,
planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation. This case study focuses
on developing deep breathing techniques on changes from fatigue that can be
measured through FACIT. The case study subjects were three patients with the
same problem, male and female, undergoing hemodialysis with activity intolerance
at the Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital in 2022.
Result : Based on the results of fatigue observations through the FACIT
questionnaire, it was found that there was a decrease in the level of fatigue both
before and after the implementation of deep breathing relaxation. Then after the
observation through FACIT was given implementation in the form of deep
breathing techniques and provided education in the form of the importance of deep
breathing techniques in reducing the patient's level of fatigue
Conclusion: All plans that have been prepared based on theory can be carried out
in the field on patients
