Background : Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by
increased blood glucose levels due to defects in insulin secretion, insulin action,
or both.
Methods: This type of research is descriptive in the form of a case study to
explore the problem of nursing implementation in patients with type II diabetes
mellitus with impaired skin integrity at Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital in
2022. The approach used is a nursing care approach which includes assessment,
nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation.
Results: The results obtained after applying the moist wound healing procedure to
patient I for three consecutive days, the wound dries up a bit, and reduces pus.
Meanwhile, in patient II after performing wound care for three consecutive days,
the results showed that the wound looked moist and reduced pus.
Conclusion: Research has found that moist wound healing is effective in the
wound healing process.
