fluid and electrolyte imbalance problems in children with gastroenteritis at
Sungai Dua Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2021. Palembang

Gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the stomach and intestines that gives
symptoms of diarrhea with or without vomiting. Diarrhea is defecation with a
number of stools that are more than usual (normal 100-200 ml per hour), with
liquid or semi-liquid (half-solid) stools, it can also be accompanied by an
increased frequency of defecation.
The purpose of this case study is to be able to carry out nursing implementation
of fluid intake disorders with fluid and electrolyte imbalance problems in children
with gastroenteritis at the Sungai Dua Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in
2021.
The design of this study uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study.
Cases were taken as many as 2 respondents, namely patients who experienced
fluid and electrolyte imbalances in gastroenteritis children located in the
children's room of the Sungai Dua Banyuasin Community Health Center. The
implementation of this case study is in February 2020.
The results showed that clients 1 and 2 no longer experienced symptoms of
diarrhea after treatment by the health center and the mother also understood about
diarrhea after being given thorough education.
The conclusion is that the parents of clients 1 and 2 already understand and
understand about diarrhea after being given education and will apply it at home.
