Description
Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) with signs and symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath. The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia is still growing so that efforts are needed to control and prevent COVID-19, one of which is maintaining the health of the body. Endurance can be maintained and improved with healthy living habits, among others, maintaining cleanliness, good nutrient intake, and coupled with the use of herbal herbs/traditional medicine. This study aims to provide health education on COVID-19 and implement the use of herbal medicines as immunobooster to families with knowledge deficit problems.
Method: The design of this research is descriptive in case studies. Case studies were conducted at least 3x home visits to provide implementation of family nursing from March 30 to April 5, 2021. The subjects of the study used were 2 families with knowledge deficit problems in the use of herbal medicines as immunobooster in families in the Palembang Pembina Health Center area.
Results: The results of the study that after providing health education to both families, families can understand the information provided and apply the use of herbal medicines as immunobooster by utilizing herbal drinks ready to brew (jamu seduh) taken by all members so that the results obtained by clients and families feel fresh and fit so as to prevent COVID-19.
Conclusion: The provision of health education is very influential to the behavior of Mr. A and Mrs. L's family who began to be able to use herbal medicines as immunobooster as a form of prevention of COVID-19.
