Diabetes mellitus is a type of chronic disease characterized by an increase in
blood sugar levels due to a disruption in the metabolic system in the body. The
purpose of this study was to carry out and determine the description of nursing
care in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients with nutritional deficits. The type of
research used is descriptive analytic in the form of a nursing care approach which
includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The research subjects were two Diabetes Mellitus patients with nutritional deficits
at Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang in 2021. The results obtained in both
patients by measuring body weight, performing oral hygiene and providing
education on DM diet to overcome nutritional deficits, namely the presence of
weight gain and reduced nausea. In addition, after being given education about the
DM diet, the two patients were able to find out how to do the right DM diet.
