Hasil penelitian tahap eksploratif diperoleh lima tema penelitian yaitu tema kondisi pasien kanker; support system masyarakat dalam pendidikan kesehatan pasien kanker; dukungan sistem layanan kesehatan; nursing process untuk pendidik pasien; dukungan pembelajaran. Tahap pengembangan model dihasilkan nurse educator model yang valid dan teruji melalui konsultasi pakar, studi pilot dan konfirmational factor analysis melalui SEM. Nurse educator model dikembangkan sebagai pendekatan dalam pembentukan perawat kompeten dalam pendidikan kesehatan pada pasien kanker.
