Description
Background: Pneumonia is the leading cause of infant mortality in the world.
Pneumonia is a child killer disease which is more than other diseases in the world.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health noted that the number of occurrences in
Indonesia among infants was estimated at between 10% - 20% or 100 to 200
children per year. In 2017 the number of targets for finding toddlers pneumonia
was 29,603 cases, with age groups under 1 year totaling 3,915 cases and ages 1-4
years with 7,917 cases, for severe pneumonia under 1 year of age amounting to
309 cases and aged 1-4 years amounting to 197 cases. The purpose of this study is
3, namely implementing chest physiotherapy nursing, collaborating with oxygen
therapy, and providing health education about pneumonia. Method: The research
design used was interview method, physical examination, and from other medical
supporting data. After carrying out nursing actions each of 3 days in Patient 1 and
Patient 2, the researcher got the goal to be achieved, namely effective airway
clearance. Results: By doing chest physiotherapy can reduce mucus contained in
the respiratory tract, in addition to collaboration with the provision of oxygen
therapy in order to fulfill oxygen in the body and provide health education about
pneumonia to the patient's family with the aim that there is a change in behavior,
especially in the health sector. Conclusion: Treatment of children with
pneumonia in the event of shortness of breath is given nasal oxygen and nebulizer
