Description

Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) is a common problem in men because they often hold urine when they want to urinate, and this causes increased enlargement of the prostate gland, the action taken for sufferers of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) is surgery Surgical procedures usually have side effects that must be felt by patients who perform surgery, one of which is pain. The purpose of this case study is to provide deep breathing relaxation therapy to reduce pain levels in postoperative patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia at Siti Fatimah Hospital in Palembang. This research uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study. The approach used is the nursing care approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study were 2 people with the same criteria, namely postoperative patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The results showed that by administering deep breathing relaxation therapy, a pain scale was obtained in Mr. Z and Mr. M decreased. Deep breathing relaxation therapy technique is a non-pharmacological therapy to treat pain in postoperative patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. This nursing action can be an intervention to reduce acute pain felt by patients
