Description
Background: The risk of violent behavior is an angry response expressed by
making threats, injuring oneself or others and can damage the surrounding
environment. Expressive writing is an activity carried out to convey feelings and
thoughts to patients at risk of violent behavior that describes the contents of the
heart related to emotions in written form that is described appropriately.
Methods: The type of research used is descriptive in the form of a case study using
a nursing process approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnoses, nursing
interventions, nursing implementation, evaluation and follow-up. The determination
of subjects in this study used a purposive sampling technique, namely three
schizophrenic patients with risk of violent behavior at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital,
South Sumatra Province. Held for six days from 25 March to 30 March 2023.
Results: Nursing Implementation of Expressive Writing Therapy As an
intervention in reducing negative emotions is effective in the three patients.
Conclusion: Expressive writing therapy can be an intervention in reducing negative
emotions in schizophrenic patients with risk problems for violent behavior.
