Description
Background : Auditory hallucinations are one of the positive symptoms of
schizophrenia in which there is a stimulus disturbance in the patient in the form of
voices, especially the voices of people ordering to do something, including one of
which is self-injury which can lead to the risk of suicide. The purpose of this study
is to find out how the implementation of guided imagery techniques to control
auditory hallucinations can be described so as to reduce the risk of suicide.
Methods : The research design is a case study where the research method is
descriptive with the presentation of case studies through the implementation of
guided imagery techniques in auditory hallucination patients with suicide risk
problems at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, Palembang. It was carried out from 25 to 31
March 2023. The sample technique used was purposive sampling with 3 male
patients with auditory hallucinations with suicide risk problems.
Results : Guided imagery techniques are effective in helping control auditory
hallucinations and can help reduce the risk of suicide in all three patients.
Conclusion : The implementation of guided imagery techniques is effectively used
to reduce the risk of suicide in patients with auditory hallucinations
