Description
Background: Children with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever must be treated in an invasive hospital
(hospitalization) so this will cause anxiety for the child. Nurses have a big role in controlling
anxiety with atraumatic care method, one of which is storytelling exercise. Storytelling aims to
make children happy or be used as entertainment when being treated at the hospital and can
reduce anxiety about children. Objective: the author is able to carry out nursing implementation in
dengue hemorrhagic fever pediatric patients with anxiety nursing problems. Method: The design of
this case study is descriptive in the form of a case study with a nursing process approach consisting
of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation. The
case study subjects were two cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever with Anxiety nursing problems
at Siti Fatimah Hospital Palembang in 2021. Data collection techniques were by means of
observation, interviews and filling out research instruments for tree days. Result: The results of the
assessment before being given therapy, the patient experienced severe anxiety. The transfer activity
exercise (Storytelling) has an effective effect on reducing the anxiety experienced by pediatric
patients during hospitalization. Conclusion Anxiety scores decreased significantly after the
distraction technique with Storytelling was performed Suggestion: Nurses dan patient's family can
recognize signs of anxiety in children so that they are able to manage anxiety in children
(hospitalization) so this will cause anxiety for the child. Nurses have a big role in controlling
