The elderly will experience the aging process, resulting in physical and mental changes. Physical changes in the elderly, one of which is the urinary system, can experience urinary incontinence. Urinary incontinence is the uncontrollable loss of urine for an unwanted period of time. Urinary incontinence will cause complications such as urinary tract infections, skin infections in the pubic area, sleep disturbances, pressure sores, and rash symptoms. One of the treatments that can be done for urinary incontinence patients is through Kegel exercises. Kegel exercises are exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles of the urinary tract because Kegel exercises can also cure the inability to hold urine (urinary incontinence).
Objective: To determine the effect of Kegel exercises on urinary incontinence in the elderly
Methods: This research uses a descriptive case study method using a nursing process approach.
Results: From the results of the data obtained from 2 respondents, it was found that urinary incontinence problems and showed a change in the frequency of urination in 2 respondents after doing Kegel exercises.
Conclusion: after doing Kegel exercises, the authors found that Kegel exercises had an effect on decreasing the frequency of urination.
Suggestion: It is hoped that the client and family are able to routinely do Kegel exercises to help decrease the frequency of urination.
