Typhoid fever is a multi-organ disease caused mainly by Salmonella typhi serotypes and Salmonella paratyphi serotypes A, B, and C. Typhoid feveroccurs in the small intestine and can be transmitted through food, mouth, andwater contaminated with Salmonella and with symptoms of severe polybacterialdisease to relatively mild with low-grade fever, extending to diarrhea. The perceived problem is a nutritional deficit. To overcome and prevent nutritional deficits, nutritional management is necessary.
The type of research used in this study was descriptive in the form of a casestudy to explore the implementation of nursing in children with typhoid fever with nutritional deficits. The case study subjects used in this nursing research were individuals whose cases were studied in detail and in depth. The subjects studied were two pediatric patients aged 1-4 years with the same cases and nursing problems, namely typhoid fever patients with nutritional deficit problems and willing to become respondents by signing informed consentre presented by the client's family. This case study was conducted at Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang. The time of this research was carried out in March 2022.
The results showed that nutritional management is effective in patients with nutritional deficits in any case, especially in cases of typhoid fever.
