Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy in Families of Patients with
Hypertension with Problems with Disturbance in Comfort atMerdeka Health
Center Palembang in 2022. Diploma III Nursing Program, Nursing
Department, Health Polytechnic, Palembang Ministry of Health. Supervisor
(1) : Imelda Erman, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. Supervisor (2) : Sherli Shobur,
SKM., MKM.
Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition characterized by
increased blood pressure on the walls of the arteries. A person is said to have
hypertension if the blood pressure examination shows results above 140/90 mmHg.
Methods: This type of research is descriptive with a case study design using a
comprehensive nursing process approach including assessment, nursing diagnosis,
nursing planning, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation. Results:
changes in pain intensity after giving progressive muscle relaxation therapy,
namely client I and Client II who previously experienced pain with a pain scale of
4 and 5 after the progressive muscle relaxation therapy action, the pain was reduced
to a pain scale of 2, and given health education about hypertension to the client. and
family so that the client seems to understand about hypertension. Conclusion:
Research has found that headaches can be reduced by performing progressive
muscle relaxation therapy in hypertensive patients.
