Background : Violent behavior is a form of inappropriate expression of anger,
marked by actions that can harm or injure oneself, others and the environment.
Assertive action is an act of expressing feelings directly to others which is carried
out to express anger, request, and refuse in a good and polite manner without
harming oneself, others and the environment.
Methods: The type of research used is descriptive in the form of case studies using
a nursing process approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnoses, nursing
interventions, nursing implementation, evaluation and follow-up. Determination of
subjects in this study using a purposive sampling technique, namely three
schizophrenia patients with violent behavior problems at the Mitra Mulia
Banyuasin Foundation, South Sumatra. It will be held for seven days from 31
January to 06 February 2022.
Result: The implementation of assertive actions as an intervention in expressing
anger was effective on both clients, and ineffective on one client.
Conclusion: Assertive action can be an intervention in expressing anger in
schizophrenic clients with violent behavior problems.
