Description
Background Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease caused by problems in the
body in producing insulin, insulin produced is less or not at all, or it could be due
to malfunctioning of the insulin receptor so that cells cannot receive glucose for
metabolism. Methods: The design of this study used a descriptive method. in the
form of a case study with a nursing process approach consisting of assessment,
nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation. This
case study focuses on the implementation of Tissue Integrity Disorders teaching
wound care and providing health education about Diabetes Mellitus which is
carried out once a day in the morning. The case study subjects were 2 patients
with Type II Diabetes Mellitus with problems with tissue integrity disorders in the
Ahmad Dahlan Room, Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang and started on March
11, 2022.Results: The results showed that the provision of wound nursing actions
had an effective effect on reducing the infection experienced by the patient, so
that the patient could carry out activities as usual and could increase the patient's
knowledge about Type II Diabetes Mellitus. Conclusion: Based on the results of
this study, it is necessary to have a wound care intervention to treat infection in
Type II Diabetes Mellitus.
