Description
The incidence of appendicitis according to the World Health Organization (WHO), data from
35,539 surgical patients treated in the intensive care unit, of which 8,622 patients (25.1%)
experienced psychiatric problems and 2,473 patients (7%) experienced anxiety. The purpose
of this paper is to obtain an overview of nursing implementation in patients undergoing
preoperative appendicitis with anxiety problems at Muhammadiyah Hospital in Palembang.
This type of research design uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study. This
research data was taken with basic nursing care including assessment, nursing diagnosis,
planning (intervention), implementation (implementation) and evaluation. The research
subjects studied were 4 respondents with preoperative appendicitis with anxiety problems.
The research was conducted in the Ibnu Rasyid room at Muhammadiyah Hospital in
Palembang. The research was conducted by conducting interviews, observation and physical
examination. The results showed that after the implementation of Ny. T, Mrs. D, Mr. M and
Mr. B with Preoperative for one day for anxiety problems, showed the patient's anxiety had
not been resolved, but showed improvement in conditions such as decreased anxiety,
decreased anxiety, and the patient seemed relaxed. Looking at the results of this study, it is
hoped that with the description of this research, other researchers can implement nursing
implementation in preoperative appendicitis patients with anxiety problems without ruling
out other problems in order to improve the quality of patient-focused nursing care.
