Background : Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the
joints (hands and feet) become inflamed, resulting in painful swelling and can
cause damage to the inside of the joint. Pain problems can be reduced through
non-pharmacological pain management with rheumatic exercises.
Methods: This writing design uses a descriptive method in the form of a case
study. Subject taken as many as 2 respondents, namely families with
Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers who experience chronic pain problems in the
working area of the 23 Ilir Health Center Palembang, in February-March 2022.
The data of this study were taken using questionnaires, interviews and pain
assessments from the NRS. The analysis was carried out descriptively and
presented in a narrative manner.
Results: The results of research from client 1 and client 2 regarding chronic pain
problems showed that the implementation of rheumatic exercise was carried out
for 4 weeks, 1 week was carried out 3 times, so that the total intervention was 12
times with a duration of 30 minutes for each intervention. The results of the
evaluation showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale. On client 1 from a
scale of 6 to a scale of 3, while client 2 from a scale of 5 to a scale of 2. So it
was concluded that there was a decrease in the pain scale by 3 points.
Conclusion: The implementation of rheumatic exercise can reduce chronic pain
in Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers
