KUALITAS HIDUP PENDERITA DM TIPE 2 PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI PUSKESMAS MAKRAYU
Subject
Quality of Life, Type 2 DM
Description
ABSTRACT
Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized
by hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance diabetes, this occurs due to a decrease in sensitivity to insulin. Quality of life is an individual's perception of his life in the context of culture and values held by individuals in relation to personal goals, expectations, standards of living, and concerns that affect
physical, psychological, social relationships, and environmental abilities. Objective: To describe the quality of life of Type 2 DM patients during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Makrayu Health Center. Research Methods: This
research is quantitative descriptive with a survey approach. Data were collected
using a Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) questionnaire. Sampling was done by purposive sampling on 53 respondents. The analysis used is univariate data analysis. Results: The results of this study indicate that the youngest age is 31 years and the oldest is 76 years. Respondents are female (54.7%). Respondents
have complications of heart disease (54.7%), the average length of time
suffering from Type 2 DM is 35.04 months. Quality of life of DM patients
(56.6%) had good quality of life. Discussion and Suggestion: In this study, not
all respondents have a good quality of life, this is influenced by characteristics,
complications, blood glucose levels and the covid-19 pandemic. So it is hoped
that the Makrayu Health Center will further increase activities in the DM
community by holding exercise activities, checking blood sugar, and providing education, thereby improving the quality of life of DM sufferers.
