Description

ABSTRACT
The silent killer is the right term for hypertension. It is estimated that 1.15
billion cases or about 29% of the world's total population will suffer from
hypertension in 2025. Management of hypertension can be done with nonpharmacological therapy. Ergonomic gymnastics is a form of nonpharmacological therapy in hypertensive patients to control blood pressure
which is done by providing ergonomic exercise movements with modified
yoga movements. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of
ergonomic gymnastics on blood pressure in hypertension patients at
Puskesmas Kertapati Palembang 2020. This study used a quasiexperimental design with a non-equivalent control group pre-test-post-test
design. The population of this study were all hypertensive patients in the
working area of the Kertapati Palembang Health Center. Sampling was
done by purposive sampling technique. The sample size is 30 respondents.
The samples in this study were 15 people for the treatment group and 15
people for the control group. From the results of the study, it can be
concluded that ergonomic exercise modification of yoga movements can
reduce systolic blood pressure using the Mann Whitney test. From these
results it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of giving
ergonomic exercise modification of yoga movements to systolic blood
pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group and the
control group
