Description
The shortened kangaroo treatment method with PMK is a treatment given to
babies who are low in weight, who generally have a birth weight of less than 2500
grams. The problem that is felt is low birth weight babies (LB W). Low birth
weight (LBW) is a baby born with a birth weight of less than 2500 grams. Babies
weighing «2500 grams have a negative impact on health, have a 20 times risk of
experiencing death compared to babies with sufficient birth weight or #2500
grams (Saifuddin, 2010).
This research method is descriptive in the form of a case study to explore the
Implementation of Kangaroo Treatment Method for Weight Gain in Infants with
Low Birth Weight (LBW) at Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang in 2021. The
focus of this case study is to apply the kangaroo method to see the effect of the
kangaroo method on weight gain in infants with low birth weight babies (LBW).
Case Study Subject The subjects in this case study were two clients who met the
inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria, namely birth weight «2,500
grams, willing to be respondents / research subjects.
The results showed that the baby's body weight increased 10-15 grams per d
babies who are low in weight, who generally have a birth weight of less than 2500
