Description
Diabetes Mellitus is a disease caused by disruption of the function of the pancreas
which causes disruption in the production of the hormone insulin for metabolism
so that blood sugar levels in the body increase. The general objective of this study
is to carry out the implementation of family nursing with nutritional deficit
problems in diabetes mellitus patients so that it is expected to meet the nutritional
needs of the client. The research design used the case study method. Samples were
taken of 2 respondents, namely the families of people with Diabetes Mellitus with
malnutrition problems at the Makrayu Health Center in April 2021. The data of
this study used a case study method in the family of Ny. R and Mrs. S for 7 days
with the implementation of the implementation of 3 consecutive days. The results
of this study indicate that the implementation carried out to clients and families
with Diabetes Mellitus sufferers is by explaining about Diabetes Mellitus and
implementing the correct diet to Mrs. R and Mrs. S. According to the results of
the research that has been done, it is necessary to have family social support to
implement the Diabetes Mellitus diet. It is hoped that the nutritional needs of the
client can be met.
