Description
Diabetes mellitus is known as a disease related to nutrition, nutrition for DM
sufferers is a basic physiological need. A good diet and dietary compliance must be
possessed to meet nutritional needs and a good diet. This case study aims to
determine the description of the implementation of nursing in type II diabetes
mellitus patients with nutritional deficits. The subjects studied were at least two
people with type II diabetes mellitus with the same nursing problem, namely
nutritional deficits. The design of this case study is descriptive in the form of a case
study with a nursing care approach that includes assessment, nursing diagnosis,
planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation. The results of the case
study showed the implementation of nursing type II diabetes mellitus patients with
nutritional deficits, monitoring body weight, performing oral hygiene and providing
diet education. Implementation is done to overcome the problem of nutritional
deficits in patients with type II diabetes mellitus and most of them are in accordance
with the action plan that has been implemented. As for suggestions, it is hoped that
patients and families will realize the importance of their knowledge and compliance
in implementing the suggestions that have been given in order to support health.
