Background: Cholithiasis or formation of gallstones if cholesterol is found excessive in bile and is usually composed of a mixture of cholesterol and bile pigment. Cholesterolasis is often associated with "7F" risk factors (Fat, Fermale, Forty, Fertile, Fatty food intolerance, Flatulens and Family History). Other condition factors are liver cirrhosis, postoperative obesity, diabetes mellitus, fat disorders, low cholesterol levels, high insulin levels, and metabolic syndrome disorders. Management of cholelithiasis can be divided into 2, namely surgical and non-surgical. Non-surgical therapy can be in the form of stone lysis while surgical therapy can be in the form of laparotomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, open cholecystectomy, and exploration of the choledococcus channel. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the implementation of deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain in post-cholecatic surgery patients. Methods: The design of this study was a narrative study of literature studies that discussed relaxation exercise techniques to improve pain in postoperative cholelithiasis patients surgery. Results: The results of the study used in this study consisted of 5 articles / research results published online between 2015-2019. Based on these 5 articles, the implementation of deep-breathing relaxation exercise techniques can reduce pain in patients following laparotomy surgery (cholelithiasis). Conclusion: In addition to pharmacological therapy, deep breathing relaxation exercise techniques (non-pharmacology) have been proven to be effective in reducing pain in patients with postoperative cholelithiasis/ laparotomy surgery.
