Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurred when the pancreas cannot produce the insulin hormone, or the body cannot respond to the insulin hormone produced. Diabetes Mellitus can be diagnosed if you have a classic indication like polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia accompanied by sugar levels ≥200 mg/dl and blood sugars of fasting people ≥126 mg/dl. The main purpose of this research was to find out the effects of giving Jambu Biji (Psidiumguajava) Labu Siam (Sechiumedule) Jambu Biji Labu Siam (Vasia) pudding for blood sugar levels of patients Diabetes Mellitus type II in the working area of Padang Selasa Community Health Center Palembang. The quasi-experiment research (quasi-experimental) by research design pre-test and post-test with the control group. The sample of 60 people was taken by the Purposive Sampling technique. The majority of respondents were 45-59 years old (70%) and female (83%). The average decrease in blood sugar is 53.27 mg/dl. The results of statistic test t-dependent showed there is the effect of giving Vasia pudding for blood sugar levels of patients Diabetes Mellitus type II in the working area of Padang Selasa Community Health Center Palembang (p=0.000). From the explanation above concluded that Vasia pudding has effects to decrease blood sugar levels of patients Diabetes Mellitus Type II.
