Hipertermia dapat menyebabkan tubuh kehilangan cairan apabila tidak segera ditangani sehingga menyebabkan anak harus dirawat dirumah sakit. Dampak dari hospitalisasi pada anak adalah perpisahan dengan keluarga dan anak harus menghadapi prosedur yang menyakitkan seperti tindakan invasif (pemasangan infus). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran asuhan keperawatan dalam penerapan kompres dingin dengan gelang jeli untuk meminimalkan skala nyeri pada anak usia pra sekolah saat pemasangan infus dengan demam tifoid. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan pendekatan asuhan keperawatan yaitu pengkajian, diagnosis keperawatan, intervensi, implementasi dan evalusi. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak dua orang yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi penelitian. Prioritas penatalaksanaan untuk mengurangi nyeri menggunakan kompres dingin dengan gelang jeli. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kompres dingin dengan gelang jeli dapat meminimalkan skala nyeri saat tindakan pemasangan infus pada pasien demam tifoid. Kompres dingin dengan modifikasi gelang jeli bisa diterapkan diruangan sebagai bagian dari perawatan atraumatik saat pemasangan infus pada anak.
