Title A name given to the resource The Influence of Socialization of Food Hygiene and Sanitation for Food Handlers on the Level of Germs in the Food Served in Nutrition Institute of Dr. Ernaldi Bahar Hospital Palembang 2012 Description An account of the resource Abstract: The service of food that is not sanitary and hygiene may cause health problems in patients who are being treated, because the patients are very susceptible to diseases caused by germs on food. The main objective of this study was to find out the influence of socialization of food hygiene and sanitation for food handlers on the level of germs in the food served in Nutrition Institute of Dr. Ernaldi Bahar Hospital Palembang 2012. The method of this study was quasi-experimental. The population of the study is all food handlers in Dr. Ernaldi Bahar Hospital Palembang. Twelve of them were taken as the sample of the study. The data of the level of the germs were obtained by studying the result of laboratory test done within three days in a row before the socialization, and three days after the socialization. The data of food hygiene and sanitation were gained by administering the pre test before the socialization and the posttest after the socialization. The results show that the hygiene of the samples before the socialization is 16.7%, after the socialization is 50%, the experimental group before the socialization is 33.3%, the average level of germs in the sample group is 1588.33 or 1.6x103/gram of food and in the experimental group is 4538.33 or 4.5x103 of food. After the socialization was conducted in sample groups, the average level of germs in the sample group is 1188.33 or 1.2x103/gram of food whereas the average level of germs in the experimental group is 3766.67 or 3.8x103/gram of food. There is no significant influence on the decrease of level of germs in food served. In the sample group, the score is p>0.05 (0.452), while in the experimental group p>0.05 (0.730). This study concluded that there is an increase of the knowledge of hygiene and sanitation for the food handlers, but the influence on the decrease of level of germs has been found yet. However, in practice, the percentage of mothers who do exclusive breastfeeding has not reached 80%. It is necessary to hold health promotion innovations in the form of drama games to touch the hearts of breastfeeding mothers so that awareness arises and strong motivation is formed to pass exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the drama "My Mother, My Exclusive Breastfeeding Hero" on the motivation to give exclusive breastfeeding to breastfeeding mothers in the work area of Simpang Periuk Health Center, Lubuklinggau City.Methods: The research method used is quasi-experimental without control group. The sample used was 33 breastfeeding mothers with the age of the baby not exceeding 6 months by accidental sampling. Results: The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a difference in the mean value of exclusive breastfeeding motivation before and after the drama was given (p=0.000).Conclusion: It could be concluded that there was a significant increase in the motivation for exclusive breastfeeding before and after the drama was given. Suggestions to the Puskesmas to be able to use the drama "My Mother, My Exclusive Breastfeeding Hero" as a method of health promotion. Mother’s psychological factors are affect to increase the production of breast milk. The complementary of warm steam with peppermint aromatherapy, can be done to obtain relaxation toward the physical condition and psychological postpartum. The purpose of this research to know the influence of warm steam with peppermint aromatherapy to production of breast milk on mother’s postpartum. Methods: The design of research is quasi experimental pretest-posttest with control group. The sampling technique research was use consecutive sampling. The samples to this research is mothers postpartum with normal childbirth, totaled 15 samples for the intervention group and 15 samples to the control group. Results: Data analysis to this research use different analysis mean dependent sample paired t- test. The result of statistical tests obtained p value = 0.084, so can be concluded there is no difference breast milk production between the control group with intervention group before given warm steam with peppermint aromatherapy. Peppermint aroma can make skeletal muscle relax, so blood vessels will vasodilation to increase blood flow into the breast. Conclusion: Statistic test results obtained p value = 0.001, it can be inferred there is difference between the production of breast milk the control group with intervention group after given treatment warm stream with peppermint aromatherapy. Therefore, mother’s postpartum still need trained to able to perform a warm steam therapy with aroma peppermint independently at home. They usually work from one place to another in unhealthy lifestyle. Unhealthy lifestyle will cause various diseases, such as elevated uric acid. This study was to determine the level of uric acid of intercity bus drivers in Palembang. The type of research was descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The analysis of uric acid used digital instrument with electode base biosensor method. Sample size were 41 bus drivers. The results showed that the average level of uric acid of the drivers was 5.8 mg/dL and 8 drivers (19.5%) with high purine intake. Based on purine intake, 4 drivers (40%) with high purine intake and 4 drivers (13.8%) with medium purine intake showed high level of uric acid. Based on nutritional status, 5 drivers (31.35%) with heavy nutritional status, 1 driver (5.3%) with normal nutritional status, and 2 drivers (33.3%) with thin nutritional status showed high level of uric acid. Based on knowledge of nutrition, 5 drivers (31.35%) with bad knowledge, 3 drivers (33.3%) with good knowledge showed high level of uric acid. Based on water intake, 5 drivers (15.6%) with normal water intake, and 3 drivers (33.3%) with abnormal water intake showed high level of uric acid. Based on age, 5 drivers (29.4%) with aged <40 years old and 3 drivers (12.5%) aged ≥ 40 years old showed high level of uric acid. It is suggested to the bus drivers to keep their health by consuming less purine, drinking more water, and doing exercise regularly.
