Untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaannya, maka perlu dibuat dalam bentuk sediaan krim sunscreen. Kombinasi asam stearat dan trietanolamin sebagai emulgator dapat membentuk suatu krim yang lembut dan stabil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi kombinasi asam stearat dan trietanolamin yang optimal untuk menghasilkan krim yang stabil dan memenuhi syarat. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental, yangmana esktrak daun mangga gedong (Mangifera indica L.) sebagai zat aktif yang akan diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim sunscreen dengan konsenterasi sebesar 2,8% dengan kombinasi asam stearat dan trietanolamin (10%:2%) pada formula I, (10%:2,5%) formula II, dan (10%:3%) pada formula III . Kemudian dilakukan evaluasi sediaan pada suhu kamar dan uji dipercepat (Cycling Test) yang meliputi pH, daya sebar, pemisahan fase, homogenitas, tipe emulsi, warna dan bau serta iritasi kulit. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat, pH sediaan pada uji penyimpanan suhu kamar mengalami kenaikan sedangkan pada uji dipercepat (Cycling test) mengalami penurunan namun masih memenuhi syarat, dan hasil pengujian terhadap daya sebar sediaan pada suhu kamar serta uji dipercepat mengalami penurunan. Ditinjau dari pemisahan fase, homogenitas, tipe emulsi, warna, bau dan iritasi kulit, ketiga formula memenuhi syarat selama penyimpanan suhu kamar dan uji dipercepat. Kesimpulan: Ekstrak daun mangga gedong (Mangifera indica L.) dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim sunscreen yang stabil dan memenuhi persyaratan. Formula yang paling optimal dengan kombinasi asam stearat dan trietanolamin 10%:3%.
