Menurut data Riskesdas (2013), insiden diare pada balita di Indonesia adalah 6,7 %. Sedangkan di Sumatera Selatan insiden diare pada balita mencapai 4,8%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui asupan makronutrien (energi, protein, lemak, dan karbohidrat), cairan, dan elektrolit (natrium dan kalium) balita diare selama dirawat inap di RS Pelabuhan dan RS Pusri Palembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah semua pasien balita penderita diare. Sampel berjumlah 12 balita yaitu 8 sampel RS Pelabuhan dan 4 sampel RS Pusri, yang diambil dengan cara Accidental Sampling atau mengambil responden yang kebetulan ada atau tersedia. Pengambilan data dengan metode wawancara menggunakan alat form recall 24 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan asupan makronutrien balita diare selama di rawat inap rata-rata kurang dari kebutuhan. Asupan Cairan seluruh nya sudah baik yaitu 100.0%. Dan Asupan Elektrolit rata-rata kurang dari kebutuhan yaitu Natrium kurang (41.7%) dan Kalium kurang (83.3%).
