Demikian pun proses persalinan adalah peristiwa penting yang sangat ditunggu oleh pasangan suami dan istri. Harapannya adalah proses persalinan normal. Salah satu upayanya adalah melalui upaya pendekatan yaitu mengikuti kelas ibu hamil dengan melibatkan pendamping persalinan (suami). Dengan memberdayakan suami mengikuti kelas edukasi kehamilan, maka suami mendapatkan informasi yang sama dengan istrinya tentang kehamilan dan persalinan, sehingga suami bisa memberikan dukungan positif pada saat istri melahirkan. Tujuan penelitian : mengetahui efektifitas “inovasi kelas ibu hamil melalui pemberdayaan pendamping persalinan terhadap persalinan normal di puskesmas pembina kota palembang tahun 2020. Metode Penelitian: penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dengan desain desain posttest only control Populasi adalah seluruh ibu hamil yang tercatat di Puskesmas Pembina Kota Palembang. Sampel didapat secara random menggunakan rumus besar sampel analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan, dengan analisis data Chi-Square. Hasil: terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada proses persalinan ibu yang mengikuti kelas edukasi kehamilan dengan pendamping persalinan dengan p- value 0,007 Kata Kunci: inovasi kelas ibu hamil, pemberdayaan pendamping persalinan, persalinan normal. One of the efforts is how to class pregnant women with a companion delivery (husband). By empowering the husband of the education class, the husband has the same information as the wife about age and childbirth, so that the husband can provide positive support at the time of the wife giving birth. Research objective: know the ability "innovation class of pregnant women through childbirth in Palembang City Builders Health Center Year 2020.
